i got off work early today because the power failed.. then the back up generator went out.. they told us they needed 20 people to stay and wait for the generator to get fixed.. and they'd take volunteers based on seniority.. i didn't really want to stay, but i the responsible thing and volunteered... of the fifty people working in my department, only 22 of them are senior to me.. and EVERYONE volunteered.. so i got to go home early and i had a legitimate excuse!!! freaking yay!! think i'm going to watch NCIS and Forensic Files all afternoon.. because i have a FREE DAY!!!

I love when the power goes out at my work. One time we got to sit in the breakroom for an hour and a half and wait for them to get it goin again. We all just b.s.ed and shit and it was pretty cool. I was hoping they'd just send us all home, but instead they'd rather pay 200 people to sit on their ass until the power comes back up.
