All the songs that were recently added to my iPOD have album artwork. But when I listen to them on my iPOD, there is NO artwork what-so-ever. I have the iTUNES 8 , should I upgrade to the 9? How can I fix this problem?

there's a place on itunes when u plug in ur ipod where u can choose to turn album artwork on or off. its one of the options.
