President Obama says "we cannot fully know" what led Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan to kill 13 people and wound 38 others at Fort Hood, Texas Thursday.
Hasan reportedly shouted "Allahu Akbar!" before the killings, wrote Internet postings justifying Muslim suicide bombings, considered U.S. forces the enemy, and opposed American involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan as wars on Islam. His rampage at Ft. Hood has the markings of an act of Islamic terrorism.
But in his weekly address, Obama says, "We cannot fully know what leads a man to do such a thing."
BUT....
President Obama addressed the arrest of Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. at his Cambridge home during his news conference tonight, saying that "anyone would be angry" and "the Cambridge police acted stupidly."
Am I alone in thinking there are TWO points of view here? Based on race and based on religion, and determined on how the "victum" is being portrayed.

I wonder if international politics have anything to do with how he is treating the first case, if I was in his position I'd be afraid of saying anything that someone could even interpret as meaning I thought Islam had anything to do with his decision to do what he did.
