my best friend has been a guy for about 3 years now. He just got a girlfriend and she asked him if he talked to girls over the phone any and he said yeah, his best friend (me). and apparently she told him he can't talk to me AT ALL anymore. My boyfriend's best friend is a girl and I understand so I don't have a problem with it. It's not like just because they're opposite genders something has to be going on.

You will find out real quick the quality of your friendship with your guy friend and if he has a pair of balls.  Dictating who someone can be friends with is a character flaw, a sign of insecurity and weakness.  Listening to her and obeying her directions is a clear sign of weakness for him.

If he obeys her I would lose respect for him at the snap of a finger.

It's that old girls against girls thing that has been going on since the beginning of man.  Laughable!

That's not the fault of jealousy that's not even a trust issue, it's more of a control issue. She probably has reason but it's not his fault. I don't believe in any control in a relationship, so I think you and he should have a talk about this.
