I'm from Washington, DC, and I still have a ton of friends and relatives there. I remember that the year of 2001-2002 generally freaked them all out something fierce, and they still talk about it all the time.

The guy mentioned in the article, Dean Harold Meyers, was my aunt's boyfriend, and really the only guy she'd ever had a relationship with. She'd always had a few screws loose, but after he was killed, she kind of lost it completely. Now she's practically homeless and batshit insane and living off my mom and I.  

I know another guy who was standing just a few feet away from a different victim when they were shot. That pretty much still haunts him constantly.  

Idk what I think about the shooter being put to death, though, but oh well.  I'm not going to mourn him or anything.
