I really have no idea what to say. Frankly I usually try and avoid death/dying people and this is really hard. I'm used to shutting down and acting like I'm not bothered when someone dies but I can't do that this time.

My grandfather just died a couple weeks ago, so I kind of know how you feel. I definitely would have liked a chance to tell him I love him one more time and say goodbye, so make sure you do that, but closer to his passing. He doesn't need to be burdened by people mourning his death before he's gone.
