My friend just killed himself last night I don't know what to do with myself I want to die now,, its all my fault I was talking to him all last night FUCK I should of done something more I should of ran to him I don't have a care so I was going to hitch hike but he wouldn't let me he didn't want me to get raped or something, he made me promise to die of old age but now hes gone and it don't seem to even fucking matter anymore, everything inside me died cause hes gone now I want to just stop breathing I shouldn't of been there I HATE MYSELF!!!

Listen, no matter how much you think it is, this was not your fault. My best friend committed suicide when I was 13 while I was on the phone with her. I spent months analyzing what happened, trying to figure out a way I could have stopped her and blaming myself. Then one day I realized that even if I was able to make sense of it in my head, she wouldn't magically come back to life.

If your friend wanted to end his life he would find a way to do it, even if you were there to stop him this time. It's heart-wrenching, I know. The best way to move on - not forget; move on - is probably to talk to somebody. When a friend or family member dies everyone feels lonely, but it's even worse when they take their own life. I know it's hard, and I'm not saying to not be upset, that would be ridiculous. Just realize that there was nothing you could do and that it's not your fault.
