Back in Sept it was reported that Universal Pictures is doing a live-action pic based on Hasbro's naval combat board game "Battleship" with Peter Berg at the helm. Universal already has a set date to release the film on August 5, 2011.
Berg himself has said that the film is a contemporary story of an international five-ship fleet engaged in a very dynamic, violent and intense battle, BUT he didn't say anything or give any details about the enemy.
THAT WAS TILL NOW.
A source has confirmed with me that the enemies will be ALIENS!
REALLY? Aliens? COME ON NOW...well its better than having Battleship pegs as the enemy.
I guess the Military will corporate with the film since they love to do battle with aliens and show off their new toys.
Production on "Battleship" will begin next spring.
So what do you think? Is this a good idea or not? Let us know

[I Wish It Wasn't True.]
Not just that, they are also creating a live-action film of Stretch Armstrong, Candy Land, and Ridley Scott's Monopoly! will also be coming to show.
And word has it that the film 1985's adaptation of Cluedo's Clue will also be made into a REMAKE.
Universal haven't stopped there, there is also Risk (that might actually be GOOD *shock horror*), "Asteroids," "Lego", a "View-Master toy" movie and the board game Ouija.
Hollywood's found their newest gold-rush, but I think this is a little bit too hilarious/far in my opinion.
Meh.
