I mean to say "ethnic background" but that wouldnt have fit in the title, heh

I notice cos i'm easily irked by people, even as i tolerate them. But when it's my own race, it annoys me significantly less.

Maybe it's to do with how i intuitively interpret minor physiological/motor/psychological differences

Maybe i like it better when they're similar to mine (site study, ladidah)

That would be consistent with the theory that people with little empathy tend to tolerate others less and enjoy the company of others less. (Because empathy is when you relate to another person, physiologically to a large extent)

If you don't know or can't relate, please don't just assume that your answer is "no i treat everyone the same"

idk I didn't grow up around people of my own "background" and I feel like I'm the opposite.  What people do back home is normal.  When people here start doing weird shit it's more of a wtfffff thing.

It's not about what I consider normal or not. I don't think anything surprises me in terms of cultural differences.

I meant this topic on a personal level, it's about how I relate to the person. If someone of my own race personality/views/quirks that I don't like, it doesn't matter and I can still get along with them pretty easily.  

If someone of a different race has a personality/views/quirks I don't like then I really just.. don't like him/her. It's almost as if there's a higher threshold for what's acceptable to my sensibilities. It's not some conscious decision. It's almost like I'd have to like them more in order to find them tolerable company.  

I'd think about them identically. But I'd get along with the 1st, not the 2nd.

I become more annoyed, lol.
It's more or less because I have less experience with people of my race/nationality/whatever so I find it to be less typical and don't develop a tolerance like I would have if I had lived around them.

But the annoyance never sticks.

If it is someone who has moved from another country to my country then I wouldn't get that pissed off because I would think that maybe it is different where they lived so they don't know any better or haven't assimilated yet.
