My entry

The city was one of towering glass spires and concrete citadels. There was no building under three floors, and each had at least a sub-basement. The man was standing on a structure that was of medium height, six floors. His dark hair was whipped around his face by the strong wind, though he barely noticed. The six-foot tall sentinel's attention was fixed on the large, burning disc in the sky that was edging towards the horizon. As the sun began its descent behind distant hills, the man's shoulders hunched. As the sun continued its downward trajectory, the man threw back his head and unleashed a howl, a crude, bestial sound. His jaws gaped, his canines were seen to be elongating, and taking on a slight curvature. His head took on a different structure, and jutted outward. It looked more like an ape's head than a man's. The skin on his back seethed like the ocean on a stormy night, and large, bat-like wings protruded from his shoulder blades. His ears became more pointed and slightly furred. His muscles cracked as they bulged and stretched, and became more powerful. His nails grew longer and hardened. They thickened, became black and were nails no more, but cruel talons. Finally, the transformation was done, and he collapsed to the cold, concrete roof, drenched in sweat. He opened his monstrous jaws and laughed a laugh that grips the human heart with primordial fear. He regained his feet, staggering slightly, spread his wings and jumped off of the roof.
He was the first at the meeting place, the vampire's den. It was on a rooftop, but inside a wooden shelter, possibly the only wooden construction within the entire city. There were cushioned chairs arranged, three of the four vampires. One would speak while standing and the others would sit and listen. There was a notable lack of ornamentation. The vampires thought of it as 'useless frippery'. Another vampire entered the den soundlessly and said, "Greetings, Marvick.'
"Greetings, Manuel," replied Marvick. There was a definite sense of subservience from Manuel. 'As it should be,' thought Marvick with a trace of pride and arrogance. Aloud, he asked, "Did you pass the others on the way here?"
"No," replied the other vampire. "But the others 'live' at the other ends of the city." He spoke the word 'live' with great disdain.
"Even so, I sense something strange in the air this night," said Marvick.
"It's a full moon tonight, that might be it," suggested Manuel.
"Yes, that will be it," Marvick said.
Marvick took the lapse in conversation as a chance to study Manuel. He was about five foot eight, and slender. Marvick knew he could easily overpower him, but the problem was catching him. Manuel was deadly quick, and though Marvick was sure he could defeat him, he wasn't sure what it would cost. Manuel looked up, and his green eyes locked onto Marvick's dark blue ones. Manuel looked away quickly, but Marvick had seen a flash of fear in them. Marvick was satisfied.

Half an hour later, Marvick exited the shelter, with the Thirst strong in him. The others had arrived shortly and they had, as usual, decided against Turning more people into Vampires. "The gift of the Master Race must only be given to those who are worthy," Dertath had stated in his usual pompous manner. Marvick didn't really care whether more were Turned or not, so long as they were weaker than him. Marvick stiffened as the sound of soft footsteps on stone reached his ears. The intruder was stealthy, for a human, but had no hope of sneaking up on a vampire, especially one as powerful as Marvick. Through super-sensitive skin, Marvick felt the air being parted by something. With reactions faster than a hummingbird's wings, Marvick spun around at precisely the right moment and snatched the crossbow bolt out of the air. Marvick was amused. The foolish human thought that a wooden shaft with a sharp piece of metal on the end could kill him? He laughed aloud when moisture dripped onto his finger. He realised that it was soaked in holy water. Marvick looked up at his assailant and said aloud, "Foolish human, do you really think that a crossbow bolt soaked in holy water will kill me?"
"No," his assailant replied. "But that's not holy water, it's nitro-glycerine." Then he threw a flaming piece of wood at the vampire. Even with his reflexes, Marvick couldn't save himself, because he didn't know to. He had never heard of nitro-gly... The torch ignited the chemical and it exploded. Marvick's right hand was vaporised instantly, but the rest of his death wasn't quite so clean. Half of his face melted, and the other was blown clean off. An arm struck the human in the chest, winding him. Other body parts were scattered over the roof. Marvick's left leg was propelled a fair way, then bounced down the ten story plunge to the street. Flame spattered onto the den, and the dry timber ignited. The human threw the rest of his bottle of nitro onto the roof and sprinted as far from the shelter as possible. Several seconds passed, and then a massive explosion rocked the night. The rooftop was thrown into stark relief, and if the human had been facing the den, he would have been blinded. The explosion still caused him to go temporarily deaf.

He lay for several minutes on the cold, exposed rooftop. The first he knew of his hearing returning was the shrill scream of a woman in the street. He wasn't sure if it was from the explosion, or if she had found Marvick's leg. Then the squeal of the first set of sirens sounded. He rose shakily to his feet, and turned around slowly to look at the carnage he had caused. Marvick's various body parts were strewn haphazardly around the rooftop. The den was a slightly smoking crater in the rooftop. He was glad the vampires were smart not to meet atop an occupied building. He shakily made his way towards the fire escape. He laughed at the irony. Just as he arrived at the edge, something immense slammed into him. He was thrown ten metres clear of the rooftop. It was as if in slow motion that he rotated, and saw a massive vampire, lazily flapping his wings. Then he began to fall.

He started picking up momentum at a terrific rate. He tried to scream, but his mouth wouldn't work. He tried to reach out and grab... anything, but his arms wouldn't respond. It was then that he realised the impact had broken his spine. He was all but inches away from the ground, when supremely powerful arms encircled his waist. "I couldn't let a good meal go to waste, now could I?" said the human's saviour and damnation. The vampire smiled viciously, showing long, curved canines. Then he sank his teeth into the human's neck, and drank. A euphoria overcame him, and he enjoyed it, he enjoyed having his blood sucked out of his body by a monster! But he couldn't muster the energy to find disgust. As he weakened, he surrendered, and closed his eyes.

The human awoke slowly, groggily. He was confused. The last thing he remembered was being drained dry by that blood-sucker. A face loomed into his field of vision. The human screamed and shrank back. It was the vampire! The vampire was amused, and chuckled. "You are wondering why you aren't dead," he stated. It wasn't a question. "It is because I have Turned you. You are now a vampire. I am now and will always be your master. Forget your old life, it is over. You died when you were thrown from the rooftop. You shall call me Dertath."
An acceptance came over the hum- vampire, he corrected himself. "And what am I called?" the newly Turned Inhuman asked his sire.
The vampire thought for a moment, and then smiled at a private joke. Dertath said, "Van Hellthing."

MY ENTRY : Endless Love
"shall i compare thee"
to the blackest day,
when my heart was ripped,
away from me.

you promised me lies,
me, eager to believe,
craving your love,
not seeing your insincere,

i forgive but never forget,
hoping for a change,
that never comes,
me, your fallen love,

i defend your honour,
i defend our love,
i should have known better.

now i am alone,
repressed once more,
without love

Ah well, he's Entry #1 anyway:

Id lay on the floor looking at the ceiling, arms sprawled out. Ego rested on the sofa, feet up. Super-Ego sat in the armchair, arms on the armrests, feet firmly on the ground.
The T.V was on. On the screen was a first-person view of someone walking down a lit street. His name was Domhnall. Id was paying no attention to the television. It seemed the ceiling proved more interesting to him. Ego and Super-Ego on the other hand were watching the screen, Super-Ego only half paying attention. He was talking to Ego.

Domhnall had just been on a date with a girl from work, Jess.
"He shouldn't call her back, it will only lead to heartache. Take it from me."
"Don't be so pessimistic. He has an oppurtunity to be happy. For the rest of his life even! He's going to call her back, they're going to go out a second time, heck, they might even get married."
   "You're an idiot."
"You're a cynic. Id agrees with me, don't you buddy?"
   "Sex!" Id shouted.
"See S.E? Not everyone's as hard to please as you."
"Not everyone's as simple as Id."
   "Ah, hush."
Both stop talking, they resume watching the T.V. Domhnall buttons his winter coat up as a chilling wind hikes up. He stops and puts a cigarette to his mouth.
"What do you think you're doing, Ego? You know he's trying to cut down." shouts Super-Ego in horror.
"I know but, but he needs one. It's chilly."
"And you think that huffing on a cancer stick is gonna warm him up? Cop yourself on. Put it back in the carton."
Dohmnall hesitates before lighting the cigarette, then removes it from his mouth and returns it to its place in the alluring red box it came from. He continues walking. He's only two blocks from his apartment now. It begins to rain.

"Ach, hurry up! You'll catch your death," says Ego, shivering.
Id glances at the Television and says "It's cold," urgently.
Domhnall picks up the pace to a brisk walk.
Seeming slightly pleased upon seeing Domhnall's rushing, Id resumes his previous position of ceiling-gazing.

As Domhnall continues his flight to shelter from the rain, Ego's thoughts return to Jess.
"S.E, you must admit, she is an attractive woman."
"I didn't say she isn't. It's because she's so attractive that he shouldn't call her. He's looking for something more than a fling. He wants depth."
   "She's deep!" says Ego, offended.
"She thought the 1916 Rising was when yeast was introduced into Ireland for Christ's sake!"
"A mistake anyone could have made." replies Ego indignantly.
"Don't be ridiculous, Ego." Super-Ego says angrily, "If she's deep then we're way down in Davy Jones' Locker."

Domhnall reaches his apartment block door with a sigh of content from Id. Climbing the stairs, Domhnall passes Elaine, his neighbour. This brings on a fresh bout betweeen Ego and Super-Ego. Super-Ego initiates the argument, naturally.
   "There, that's marriage material."
"What, Elaine? No, she's too bland. She's nice and all, but..."
"Exactly my point! It's all want with you! You never think of the future, sometimes you just have to settle."
"Why? Why should I? Domhnall deserves better, the world is his oyster."
"Wake up and smell the coffee Ego! He's 29 next year, he can't just up and leave. What he's got is good."
"Not for me it isn't!" Ego shouts childishly.
Another lapse of silence as Domhnall reaches for his cold brass doorhandle.

Closing the door behind him, Domhnall throws his wet jacket over the back of his armchair.
Id snaps out of his trance briefly and mutters "Hungry." to Ego. Ego dismisses him, "Not now." he says. A minute later Id says "Hungry." again, taking on a tone of urgency. Again, Ego dismisses him. A second minute passes and Id has had enough. He gets up sits down beside Ego on the couch and screams the word Hungry over and over until Ego caves. Dohmnall goes about fixing spaghetti bolognese.
"Extra cheese tonight methinks!" spouts Ego enthusiastically.
"Not on my watch. He has already eaten a breakfast roll today. I'm drawing a line."
   "You're no fun, S.E."
Domhnall sits down at the dining table with his meal and takes his first forkful. Id lies on the floor again, appeased. Domhnall's hand strays to his pocket from which he withdraws a piece of paper with a number on it.
"Don't call it, Ego. Only bad will come from it."
For once, Ego listens. Domhnall shreds the piece of paper and finishes his meal.
"Elaine does have depth of character..."
"And she likes our Domhnall, that much is clear."
   Domhnall smiles. Id yawns.
   "Time for bed," observes Ego.

Domhnall lies in bed. Ego stands up, stretches, walks to the television set and turns it off.

MASKS

Mask 1: anger >8(
So many masks upon this face
So many different roads to take
Which one to wear inside this place?
Much more of this I can't take

Mask 2: confusion 8?
How can I go to the north and I'm angry?
But I go the south and I'm sad.
When I go to the east and I'm the good kid?
But I go to the west and I'm the bad.

Mask 3: regret 8'(
So many different places ...
So many masks to wear...
So many different faces...
On my head right here...

I screamed the words they echoed through my head
I didn't see a reason to get up out of bed

CHORUS:
Living, just keep living it's all that we can do
Living, just keep living until our lives are through

I was so crazy I didn't know what to do
All I saw was the crowd I didn't know who was who

CHORUS

People screaming help me what could I do?
Who could help to start they're life anew?
CHORUS
Ill guess I'll keep on walking I guess I'll just ignore
The dying the helpless and the poor

CHORUS

I had forgotten about this! :

In words:

Vainly flickering your eyes,
You are
complete with a dimpled face,
Radiating eloquence
And tough love.
I yearn for your warmth,
I push for your body.
Wake me.
Make me.

Discovering:

"Why are we alive, Mary? What is our purpose in living?" Robert asked, his voice so questioning, yet still carefree as it always was..

"Why ask such a thing? As I see it, living is a gift. So I'm going to do just that: live; and I'm going to live my life to the fullest. You should do the same, well I hope you've planned on it anyways. Though tell me Robby, you'll always be here with me, right?" She questioned, silently longing for the answer that she deeply desired.

"Of course. I'll always be here with you, in one way or another." He said, not giving it a second thought.

"You mean in person, I'm hoping." Mary turned her head to glace over at him, giving that look of wonder that always appeared on her face when he had given her yet another puzzling answer to a question she would ask.

Robert didn't respond this time, but instead kept his eyes closed and continued to lay in his spot on the grass, his slender body stretched out, with his hands behind his head, using them as a pillow. She admired his features: that perfect complexion that complimented his gorgeous face, the messy chocolate-colored hair that she loved to ruffle, and those amazing bright blue eyes of his. Oh it was a shame when his eyes were closed, Mary would constantly catch herself getting lost in them; as if they were a sea of dreams. Many of a time she would wonder how she ever had gotten him as a friend, actually, as her best friend. Considering herself plain, with her common brunette hair and brown eyes, not to mention her average body; she considered herself not worthy of such a beautiful person to be so close to her.

Birds chirped around Mary, a few flocking from the large Oak tree which the two were rested beneath, the tree that they had claimed as their own when they were just children. This had brought her back from the thoughts she had gotten caught up in. She took a moment to take in all the scenery of luscious colors, and various life forms that surrounded the area. A long meadow of grass and weeds, just beginning to grow higher now that it had become summer, reached into the distance; there were a couple of trees placed randomly about and a small river which flowed into the sunset. More birds flew about, singing their songs of life; and the warm wind blew, sending a fresh smell of water and nature into Mary's lungs.

"Mary?" Robert finally spoke.

"Yes?"

"Do you think there's a Heaven?"

"Of course. Why are you asking such questions today?"

"No reason, I've just been thinking a lot lately." He rolled onto his stomach and propped himself up on his elbows, plucking a piece of grass and meddling with it for a few seconds before discarding it and taking another.

"Thinking about what, exactly?" The girl shifted around in her position against the rough bark of the tree, she crossed her legs and placed her head so that she could gaze at the leaves high above that were swaying in the wind.

"Nothing in particular, anything and everything. I just wonder about things, you know?"

Mary nodded, signaling that she understood. Secretly though, she was still lost in wonder about what he was truly thinking about. Lately, Robert constantly wore a face that showed a look of deep thought. Though it had always kept her thinking, she didn't want to intrude in his personal business or seem nosey; she'd hoped he would just, possibly one day, open up to what he was always concentrating on. That day didn't seem to be coming so soon, as she was hoping for.

"Mary? Are you asleep?"

With her thoughts suddenly interrupted, she slowly wrenched her eyes open and found herself looking into the eyes of none other than Robbie, whom was giving her a confused look.

"Oh, sorry. I was just lost in thinking about something." She grinned.

"Well I was just going to suggest that we head on home, it's going to get dark pretty soon." His look turned to one of a slight smile.

Mary looked around, the sky showed it was already dusk. She was surprised, it had gotten so late so quickly.

"You're right. It is getting pretty late. Let's be going then."

Robert held out his hand for her to grab; once she did, he pulled her to her feet and watched while she dusted herself off. Once she was finished, Robbie cupped his hand with hers, taking Mary by surprise, then leading the two of them down through the meadow.

(This is just a part of a much longer story actually.)

Hope:
(This is just a play I had to write in theatre a few years back)

A father and daughter are at their home sitting on the porch, the man looks extremely upset while the kid is playing in the grass.
The father sighs and puts his face in his hands, trying hard not to cry in front of his beloved daughter. The child runs up to him and pries his hands from his head then flashes a bright smile.

Child- "Daddy..? When is mommy coming home?"

Father- "Oh, sweetheart, I don't think she will be.. She.. She went on to a better place."

Child- "Where is that?"

Father- "In Heaven hunny.."

Child- "Well.. When is she leaving to come home? I miss her."

The father cannot hold in his tears any longer and a few slide down his face. He pulls his daughter into a hug then sets her beside him on the bench, and looks at her sternly in the eyes yet with a sadness of some sort.

Father- "She's gone... She died. That means she isn't alive. So, she can't come home..."

Child- "Like Sparky? My old doggy?"

Father- "Yes hunny.. Like Sparky."

Child- "But.. But I need mommy!"

The child's eyes start to form with tears and then they start to gently fall down her face.
The father pulls her into a hug and this time, he doesn't let go.

Father- "We both do.. We both do."

The child looks up into the father's eyes while hers are red and swollen.

Child- "Is she happy like Sparky?"

The father smiles weakly down at her and nods.

Father- "Yes. I bet she is very happy. And she'll watch over you forever."

Child- "Does she miss me?"

Father- "Very much. She loved you with all her heart."

Child- "I love her too! Maybe I can go visit her later!"

Father- "But ba--"

The father is cut off when the child finds a way out of her father's hold. She whips her eyes and smiles at him. He returns a small smile and she runs to the middle of the yard then looks up at the sky. The young girl looks up at the sky..

Child- "Mommy.. I love you and I miss you.. I'll be sure to come visit you soon! Don't forget about me.. You'll always be in my heart."

The child places her hand over her heart and closes her eyes. The father is in the background looking at his daughter with astonishment. He smiles and also places his hand over his heart then closes his eyes.

Father- (Whispering) "We miss you. I'll protect our daughter with my life. I love you..."

The light fades with the child walking back over to her father while his eyes are closed and his hand still placed over his heart.

Your always fucking trying to play
You cant fucking get past everyones looks
And you pre-judge people as if they're a book
Your a bitch your a skank your a slut your a whore
And I dont use these terms lightly anymore
I say shit i mean and don't say what I don't
And you always take it as if it's a joke
You just don't fucking get it babe
You think you fucking know true pain
Well here let me help you I'll give you a boost
You can sit with me upon this roost
You can sit and watch and smile and laugh
At all the misfortune of my past
My problems dont matter to you anymore
I wonder if they ever did before
Hey why whine lets listen to yours
Lemme listen to you bitch about your chores
Or how your tummy hurts today
Or how you cant see your friend to play
Or how your mom continues to yell
Or how you think your in hell
Guess what your not special your exactly the same
As every other spoiled brat who has no brain
Oh sure its there but do you use it? no
So get up off your ass and get down to blow
Thats where you want to be we both know
You chose this reality so please just go

Help,
The life inside me is fading,
The death around me,
So sad and embracing.
Help,
I can't go on much further,
The past is gloomy, Future...
Not so upbeat.
Help,
I can't go on, the life
Is gloomy, Future
So sad and embracing....

Help,
My mind is fluttered,
With everyday decisions,
Uncertainty beating my every decision.
Help,
My brain indecisive,
Which path to take,
Do I go left, or do I go right?
Help,
Tonight is the night,
To make a decision,
Which will set my life,
For ever its own.

Don't Help Me,
I don't want it.
You put on a smirk smile and
Act like you care
Don't Help Me,
I don't want your pity,
The superficial attitude
of superiority
Don't Help Me
Just get away
and stop helping me
dig my own grave.

Don't Help Me,
I don't want it
I don't want it
I don't want it
Don't Help Me,
You could care less,
You never cared one bit,
So why start now?
Don't Help Me,
I'm tired of trying too hard
Giving up everything
To please you

Don't Help Me
I've already lost myself
Lost myself to everything
and anything
Don't Help Me
Instead just laugh
laugh once more
at everything I do
Help
I can't go on much longer
Your presence...
Suffocation.

Anonymous because I don't expect this to win. If it so happen does, then Barnabas feel free to reveal. I'd rather you not unless you have to...

P.s. The first stanza is meant to be like that. Clarification in the second one, with 'mind fluttered'

Entry Six: Poem

You've got me at the palm of your hand,
I can easily be swayed from side to side.
Toying with my emotions day by day,
Making me feel worse with each passing hour.
Looking in your eyes has never been harder,
The guilt I face for nothing.
You make my stomach turn,
My muscles fade.
I've never felt less useful in my life,
Until I look at you.
Everything Neutralizes,
My hopes and dreams,
This sickness you give me,
Is nothing new.
You make me feel like I imagine it,
or that nothings true.
You spin my words into your web,
of lies and lies once more.
Continually making me sick.
I wish you would just leave,
or go away again, and never
Come back until I needed you.
At this point the path would never end.
I'll never need you, oh surely...
Because anything we had, you've diminished.
Each passing day.

Entry One - Poem
One thing is for certain,
that you're my complement.

By common definition it'd mean:
you make me complete,
you're the missing piece.

or

On the color wheel:
you'd be my opposite,
we'd be the two colors that shouldn't be mixed,
the two souls that, even with time, can't be fixed.

So which is it?
