There are MANY strains of HPV... only a few are known to cause cancer.  It's more likely will not develop into cervical cancer for females.

That's the dumbest reasoning for not telling someone you carry a possibly deadly STD I've ever heard.

No shit.
To me statistics don't even matter in this case.
You never know who's more suseptible, and you can't base your choices soley on random "facts" you get from the internet.

I agree. He only quoted part of my post.

I even said...

"So really, you should ALWAYS use a condom, AND let the person know what your situation is."

Condoms aren't tremendously effective against HPV, seeming as they often don't effect the part of the anatomy covered by the condom.

In vain I have struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed.

You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.

It's the safest thing you can do other than be abstinent.  But if you let the other person know, then that's their decision to make.  Which is why people need to be more well-informed about these things, which sadly, many are not.

Even with other STDs, one broken condom, a condom that slips off... that's all it really takes.

that's pretty fucking obvious bro, but don't you think my fact is worth saying in order to not make the OP think that condoms will always protect against this STI, as your statement implied, you mindless twat?

speaking as a girl that was given hpv without being told, from my FIRST boyfriend no less who was 4 years older than me, i can tell you that it can absolutely devastate the girl you are contemplating having sexual relations with. i have had this disease for 4 years now, i am 20. i have had 2 biopsies which are extremely painful, they take a small cone-shaped piece out of your cervix muscle to analyze while you are awake! no medication, they just go in and take this tool that carves out this piece! if an hpv positive girl doesn't want to get cervical cancer she must have appointment after appointment of monitoring the progress of the disease, not to mention the horribly painful cramps that come with the disease that attack at random... that means in class, at work, at home, sleeping she will all of a sudden have overwhelming cramping in her cervix. DO NOT KID YOURSELF, this is a full-fledged STD and just because that many people have it does not mean it's okay to keep transmitting it. save that girl from your diseased penis. it is your responsibility to keep from spreading this disease.

There was, at no point, in my post an implication that your fact was not worth saying.  As you quoted my post, it sounded more as if you were addressing myself as opposed to OP.  I merely responded to state that I knew your statement, not to argue against it.  If you were more directly wishing to speak to the OP, then you could have left out quoting my post whatsoever.

I agree, I should have mentioned that fact since I suppose it is not common knowledge that condoms are not as effective as for other STIs(as intercourse isn't necessary to contract HPV), but it is also the reason why I stated that the other individual should be told such that they could make the decision.

So I apologize that you were unable to appropriately interpret my post.  I still fail to see where I was questioning anything that you said, considering I agreed with you in my response.  But then again, I suppose I'm a mindless twat, so I must not know what I'm talking about.
