For me, it would be smell. I knew this one girl in high school who was really pretty, but had the nastiest breath in the world. I really dug her up until that very point.

There's a girl who lives in my hall who's an extremely pretty Japanese girl. Last night, though, I was riding in the elevator, and she had the grodiest smell. Immediately when she stepped on, everything stunk.

What do you all say breaks how attractive someone is?

I read a story earlier about a super-hot chick who was, to all external observation, perfect.  Then she opened her mouth and admitted to not knowing that maple syrup came from trees, commenting that she thought it was called maple because of "the colour".

Deal.  Breaker.

Oh yeah, stupidity is a BIG one too - though usually I can tell if someone's an idiot pretty quickly so it's pretty much a non-issue since I'm not shallow enough that my brain bases attraction purely on looks.

Agreed.

Frankly, basic intelligence, compassion, and hygiene are my three must-haves.  I cannot stand assholes, nor can I stand those who are filthy or stupid.  Everything else is kind of secondary.
