Voluntary self-destruction, ironic. Come on man, you just said it, you know you have a problem, so cut it out before it gets out of hand. Most people that have drinking problems don't realize it until its too out of control. Don't replace it with cannabis, thats destructive too, its healthier, but still a destructive form of escapism. A better solution would be to replace it with knowledge and activity. Start working out, start a new hobby, read books. Instead of drinking on the weekends to unwind, smoke weed, its a better alternative. However, don't replace all the negative feelings associated with drinking and put them into smoking weed, you'll find yourself smoking everyday and spending way too much money on it. Using drugs as a form of escapism is destructive no matter what the substance.
