Sorry for the wall of text but I'm going to give you the background of my problem just in case you folks have a better idea to complete my task

Scenario: I have a HTPC (home theater PC) and using windows media center (W.M.C.) as the primary means of playing movies.  My brother recommended using  this  collection management software (http://www.mymovies.dk/) for my movies because it seamlessly integrates with  W.M.C  and automatically downloads the cover art, and other movie meta data so I can search by actor, genre, movie release date , as well as uploading it to a web page so I can view my collection online .

Problem: when I go to import my collection (that is in AVI files "backed up" from torrents) it doesn't recognize them unless they are in individual folders with the name of the movie as the folder name.  My old management system (a batch file that would just do a directory listing and save it in a Txt file) had me have all my AVI files in one folder (800 files). Is there a way to set up a script (either batch file, Visual basic, or some other means) that will create a folder for each file on my HDD and it will be named the exact same name as the file (EX:  file "Angels & Demons (2009) AXXO.avi" will be put in a folder called Angels & Demons (2009) AXXO containing only that file)

My only other option at this time is to manually create a folder name it and then drag and drop the file in. This of course will be very tedious and not really something I'm too excited about having to do. If any of you Awesome Fellow LW members have a solution I'm all ears.
Thanks
~P.F.

I could probably write such a program in Ruby or Perl if need be, but I'd have to look up a few things since it's been a while since I've done anything to do with the filesystem, and I've never tried writing such a script on Windows. If you have/are willing to put Ruby or Perl on there tell me and I'll get around to doing it, otherwise I'm sure someone else has the VB/etc method.
