My 8th grade teacher turned the TV on in the class, saying that this event is far more important than anything he could teach us,

we watched the news coverage all morning

The teacher said for all of us to go home for the afternoon, he said hell take the heat for out absences

i was in my last class for the day. our school refused to tell us about it any earlier. so none of us knew what had happened really until we went home and turned on our televisions.


they should have said something sooner, considering the area i live in. it was really not responsible the way that they handled it.

i was in Queens, NY. Just across Manhatten. I was in my 6th grade classroom discussing books to read during the year that morning...
I actually heard the noises of the airplanes crashing into the buildings, and the buildings collapsing. My stupid, naive self thought that it was a garbage truck going retarded since I remembered thinking "hey, that sounds so loud for a garbage truck"...
Then I turned around to look out the window and smoke was everywhere. So I didn't need a tv to know that we were attacked lol.
