A document leaked to The Washington Post last week showed that nearly three dozen lawmakers have come under scrutiny this year by either the House ethics committee or the Office of Congressional Ethics, an independent watchdog created in 2008 at the insistence of Pelosi. While the list contained a substantial number of white lawmakers, the ethics committee has not yet launched formal investigative subcommittees with respect to any of them — as it has with the seven African-American members.

Democrats also controlled the Confederacy and the Klan.

Democrats also controlled the Confederacy and the Klan.

You mean like Lincoln who pushed to keep slavery legal in the USA before, during and after the war?

Must mean like Lincoln who pushed to deport every free black to Panama, Haiti, or Liberia?

No, I mean the democrats that institutionalised slavery, segregation, Jim Crow laws, and the Dixiecrats.

Lincoln simply understood rightly, that the United States could not remain divided on the issue.

And by the way many free blacks wanted to leave this country. They held no grudge. Have you ever seen the flag of Liberia?

Slavery, segregation and Jim Crow laws were all over the North too dipshit.

Not to mention that a majority of blacks resisted things such as the American Colonization Society and other attempts to make sure that the USA was 100% white.

Thanks for showing exactly how little you know about American history.

Slavery, segregation and Jim Crow laws were all over the North as were democrats. And today's democrat party is just as plantation minded as ever. That is the point of my original response.

If you knew anything about history, you would know that some members of American Colonization Society, were black abolitionists.

So slavery was bad? Look at Chicago or Detroit. The people there need slavery to keep them in check.

As do people around the New Orleans area.
