can someone give me an example of complex syntax, and maybe a few points on how to recognise features, please?
It's late, I'm desperately trying to finish my damn coursework, and I've forgotten so many linguistic terms. Oh, and google failed me, which is why I am asking personally.

Apparently it's the mixing of verb forms, objects, and adverbs from what I can gather.
An example would be "before even coming"

Isn't complex syntax another word for complex sentences?
If so it's pretty simple
An example would be..
John and Janewent to KFC afterthey'dfinishedworking.
Basically they consist of an independent clause joined by one (or more) dependent clauses. They always have words like because, after, since, who, that etc to join the two parts of the sentence together.
