Serious question.
From every girl I've ever talked to in person, most of them agree that boxers/boyshorts are more comfortable and less likely to cause issues, and that thongs and other underwear with thin straps tends to chafe at the skin.

So what's the point in wearing panties and thongs? They don't look any better than boxers do if you're going for visuals, and if you're just wearing for general use the looks don't matter at all - it's underwear.
