My best friend's mom died two weeks before I met my best friend,
so I never had the pleasure of knowing her.
But I still feel an attachment to her based on everything her daughter has told me, and how much she loves her.
So I wrote a poem and am thinking of giving it to my best friend.
What do you think?
I've never met you
But I know I will
And though I've never heard your voice
I feel I've caught your spirit still
Like a beautiful painting
That transmits a feeling
And even after you leave it
You walk away, still reeling
You've become a part of my life
An enigma that I've come to love
We shared a common lifestyle
Worshiping that which is above
So, if nothing else,
THAT ties us together every day
We have the precious gift you birthed (you)
Wishing you could have stayed
But though you've gone away
You will be in many loving hearts
From new ones that welcome you
To healing ones that have broken apart
