i feel like im inferior to other people cause i cant handle my own life without "professional help", it seems so pathetic, they say people have an inherent "emotional intelligence", mine is probably 20 cause im unintelligent

If you want to be independent from professional help you need to discuss that with whomever you're getting it from. They would be able to help you learn coping skills and ween you off.

It's nothing to be ashamed of, either.

I hate it when people say this stupid shit.  Emotional intelligence does not "fuck you up".  That's like saying that you were so smart that you failed the test.  People who claim that they are too intelligent or too aware to be happy in life are just bullshitting themselves.  You aren't depressed because you're smart.  That's not how it works.  Stop drowning yourself in pity over your supposed "emotional intelligence".

OP...likewise, you're perfectly capable of being happy yourself.  I hate these stupid labels everyone puts on things.  Shit like "emotional intelligence."  You are a human being and you do what it takes to make yourself happy in life.  That's obviously not always easy, but it's a hell of a lot easier when you aren't convinced you can't do it because of some made up psych term.
