She put two prom dresses up for sale. Someone from Nigeria wanted to buy them. She got an email from PayPal saying that the money was accepted but bc it's an international order, they would need a tracking number before putting the money into her account. It was a fake e-mail. The sender was something like payp_1@live.com. It looked like an authentic e-mail though. But she's not very smart when it comes to technology and looking for scams. She had already sent off the dresses. We first called PayPal to find out why she didn't have the money, and that's when we found out. They told her that they forbid customers from shipping to Nigeria. Then we called USPS customer service, and we found out that the dresses hadn't left the country and that if she filed a form the next day to have her dresses returned, there was a good chance she could get them back. Wow, i watched a show about this once.
What they do is get people from America to buy stuff and ship it to them where they sell it on-line for the money.
It's very hard to find the people behind this because they have numerous people working for them.
