In my time here, I don't think I've ever encouraged people to use a drug harder than cannabis. What I have done, is given people advice on how to deal with the high, told them how to get the APAP out of vicodin, etc... I don't see myself as a life saver or anything, but if it helps someone get through a bad trip or something, then it's worth it.

First off, treating recreational drugs as one entity is somewhat misleading. Sure, plenty of them are quite harmful, but this is not so of others. As per your request, my source is not a biased drug user. Rather, he's Professor David Nutt, the UK's former chair of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD). To quote his article in the Journal of Psychopharmacology, "[d]rug harm can be equal to harms in other parts of life. There is not much difference between horse-riding and ecstasy." (link).  As you can see, there is a very significant range of potential harm caused by various substances. It's somewhat deceitful to argue that cocaine is bad and thus drugs are bad and thus LSD is a horribly harmful substance. Second, your analogy of telling someone that jumping off of a building won't harm them is not really consistent with the guidelines of what is considered acceptable content in TA&SA. Factual information can be provided about substances, and there are arguably circumstances where harm-reduction advice can be given, but topics advocating illicit drug use are not allowed. It's one thing to outline what one could expect from a given drug, some risks involved, and potential ways to mitigate some of them, but it's quite another to tell them that something is harmless and they should go do it. If you can find specific posts where members are being encouraged to engage in dangerous or harmful behavior, by all means report them.
