I liked Cramer's rule, to be honest. The best thing I can offer you is to do the steps slowly. Don't try to skip any steps, write all things out carefully. As you practice more with it, you'll be able to do the problems using it more quickly.
In general, just make sure everything matches up. x1 should correlate to removing the 1st column of a and replacing with be. Then x2 with 2nd column, etc, etc. If you do it carefully, you should be able to get the answer.
