My dad brought one of his buddies from the gym home today and they were sitting in the living room taking about stuff they missed when they were teenagers.  Theyre both 37 and seem to want to get a time machine and go back to the 1980's.

Here are some of the things i heard being said:

"Cars LOOKED like cars........no high tech or bubble space ship crap designs and all cars looked different from one brand to another."

"Music was GREAT."

"Clothes made more sense."

"Hair styles were kind of out there, but at least were unique."

"There was no recession, but plenty of money being spent and all sorta of people working."

"In the summer there were SEVERAL movies that came out billed as "blockbusters", now we're lucky to get one good one a YEAR."

Anyone else head thier parents walk down memory lane?  It was kinda interesting and i then got him to take out photo albums and show me what stuff looked like then.

My Dad grew up in the 60s-70s so his memories are a little different.
He remembers a lot of money problems and political problems.
I've never really heard him say that he would go back.

Damn.

My parents are old.

Nah, I'm lucky enough to hear my mum talking about how it was to grow up in a communist world which she hated.
