Lol, what's so funneh is doctors and people in the past felt that maggots actually did come from decaying flesh. Until finally a doctor (I can't remember his name for some reason) did an experiment with 3 jars and put rotting meat in each. He sealed one, left one open, and covered the top of another with gauze. Maggots were in the open one, none in the sealed one, and maggots were on the gauze one. Abiogenesis was basically what this was all about.
The maggots come from flies.
(Btw, the rotting meat represents the rotting body in the coffin. At first there aren't any maggots but the coffin deteriorates and opens up to all sorts of life forms in the soil and such)
