i am going thought a hard time right now and my friend has been a big help. I was woundering do you think it would be okay if i asked my friend to write me letter telling me it is okay to be gay and should be happy and proud of who i am. So when i am sad, i have something to make me happy. Do you think this is too much to ask for?

Its not unreasonable.  Its reassuring when a good friend tells you that its okay to be gay.  Hold on to your friend, they sound like a true friend and those are hard to come by.
