I wrote this earlier, I decided I liked it so I edited it around a bit and I've decided to put it up on my blog, I also thought I'd put it here to try to spark a discussion...

Yesterday, thanks to the Czech President signing a document that (to quote him) would cause the Czech republic to 'cease to be a sovereign state', the United States of Europe was born, with a dictator to be selected within months by the people at the top of the tree. From fighting for six years during World War II to avoid the takeover by Germany, joining the EU 30 years later was the UK rolling over, opening our legs and asking the Third Reich mk2, 'fuck us over please'.

How can the government still maintain that we are a country in our own right, when the rules set out by the Lisbon Treaty are all too similar to Federal Law in the US, they have ultimate authority, and individual states have limited rights to make their own laws. Brussels will have the power to prevent laws going through if they don't like the look of them making it even harder for our country to develop in our legal system for example by changing drug laws to reflect harm values.

The rest of Europe is much more religious than the UK, and with representatives from every country, state laws could be banned by a new federal law suggested with religion being the underlying factor, effectively removing the status of our country as secular, and causing us to regress. It disgusts me that not only have we gone past the Scots being able to run our country without protests, we will now allow people who aren't even British Citizens to have a say in our laws. I'm NOT a racist, I have no problem with foreigners, but to allow them to have a say in how our country is run is simply despicable, we don't even have a say in how the country is run, why should they be any different?

One of the fundamental problems with this country is that Brits are too damn lazy, if we had got up off our arses and had a protest demanding a referendum then we might at least have gotten the idea to cross the MPs mind for a second. There are a handful who have aspirations of 'getting shit done', but when the army you need are the masses and the masses are lazy and apathetic, the government can get on with what they want, for their careers, rather than the people they should be serving.

Give it a few weeks and Tony Bliar will be the dictator of the newly created empire, people will turn round and ask 'what?' and question how we got to this stage where we have truly regressed. Where a war criminal, widely hated for 10 years, is now in charge of one fifth of the world without our views even considered, maybe then will people decide to do something about it. I won't hold my breath.

Mikhail Gorbachev  Once called the EU "the new soviet union". People need to rise up and stop this, before it gets as bad as it is getting here.
