Tomorrow will be the 20 year anniversery for the fall of the Berlin Wall. Most of you were probably not born when it happend, and some of you probably don't even know what the Berlin Wall is.
The Berlin Wall was erected in 1961 by the communists to keep east germans in their own country and stop the mass emigration from eastern germany into western germany
It fell on the 9th of November, 1989. What a wonderful day, it market the fall of the Iron Curtain, the End of the Cold war and the reunification of germany and infact, all of Europe.
No one saw it coming, just a few years before, nobody would have imagined that the sharp division of the entire world between Communist and Capitalist would come to and end any time soon.
This is the European Anthem, music based by the final composition of Beethovens 9th Symphony, lyrics is the poem "Ode to Joy" by Frederich Schiller, both germans ofcourse.
