I really don't get this, it seems every time I talk to someone I have to watch my tongue not to offend them. Not that I do, I speak my mind and it usually ends plenty of conversations. If I point out I'm not a patriot, and don't worship capitalism, I get "...mkay" and conversation ended. If I point out I'm not religious and find religions and strong stances against them to be counter-productive and imaginary divisions between people, I get "...mkay" and conversation ended.

And you know someone can only be so educated if they actively ignore everything that seems to disagree with their beliefs.

I don't care how educated someone is. It bothers me when people aren't educated, and don't care to be educated, yet feel qualified to say what is and what is not.

Some 'political correctness' is valid, and some of it is even outright pragmatic (ie indians vs native americans - India is a completely different country).
Most of the time it reflects using euphemisms to counter dysphemisms.
Sometimes you need that - especially if all your existing words are negative connotations.
