I would think that any species of space creature intelligent enough to fly around the galaxy [or even detect far off places] would be interested in us. We sure as hell are interested in them.
I think that discovering life on a distant planet would be a big deal for an intelligent species on any planet. If their psychology is such that they are curious enough to search, it follows pretty simply that they would get excited at finding something as huge as intelligent life, hell, even complex life.
