 A drug, broadly speaking, is any substance that, when absorbed into the body of a living organism, alters normal bodily function
Weed is a drug. Stop saying it isn't. Caffeine, alcohol and tobacco are also drugs. Just so you know, because I'm sick of people saying weed isn't a drug because it's natural. By that logic neither is salvia or magic mushrooms, not to mention the drugs made from plants like cocaine and heroin.

Thank you mtlllcrckmn. The only thing about this definition that leaves room for argument is the fact that it doesn't specify what the threshold change in metabolism is before something goes from being a "food" or "vitamin" to being a drug. When I eat fruit loops, my shit is often green. Are fruit loops a drug? Taking this definition completely literally, without any presumptions, would mean, essentially, defining a very large amount of substances with nutritional value necessary for survival as 'drugs'. Some people might find that problematic. However, I feel that, a substance being known more prevalently as a 'food' than a 'drug' because of its nutritional value doesn't change its eligibility to fulfill the definition of a drug. Therefore, I would define quite a few substances that are required for human survival as 'foods' AND 'drugs', because they are encompassed by the overlap between the two definitions, fulfilling the criteria for each.

Canniabinoids are safe and almost harmless, but certainly are drugs. They can even be powerful, IMO. I get quite impaired under the influence of them. But, of course, I am in the very small minority.
I have experienced vivid closed-eye visuals under the influence. I think that counts as cannabinoids being drugs. I don't get that from taking Pepto Bismol.
