WARNING: Rambling ahead~

SO I was reading it, and told me that I "feel sense of touch with my brain." o.o

WAT?

I thought that your nerve sent a signal up to your brain, your brain interprets it, then sends it BACK DOWN to where you are being touched. So, you are feeling it there, not your head.

Does that mean. If you get poked, you feel the poke in your brain?

Or even if you have SEX, you are feeling SEX in your head.

But that's fucking weirddd!!!!!????

*is mentally disturbed*

it's actually completely wrong
what you said was right, and idk wtf kinda psych textbook you have...

in fact, the brain has no sensory neurons- if you could have your head cut open, and someone poked your brain, you wouldn't feel it. it might cause a reaction, but you wouldn't know you were being touched

The sense of touch COINCIDES with the brain. You don't feel "touch" in your brain.

but what I'm saying is, doesn't your brain have to send some sort of signal back down to where you are being touched, at least?

Cause I thought it just interprets the feeling, and where its coming from.

Why would it have to send any signals back to where the sensory input came from?

So you feel it there? o.o

Like, what I'm saying is, you feel touch with both your brain AND your skin, etc.

Like, you get touched on the arm.
the feeling goes up to the brain
your brain interprets the the feeling
then it sends the feeling back down to your arm.

That's what my Psych teacher told me, but the book says something different o__o lol

Cause when I touch my foot, I sure as hell am not feeling it in my head. xD

plus, your brain doesn't have any sensory neurons?

I still don't understand why your brain would have to send a signal back to the location of the sensory input.

The nerves where you are touched merely send the signals to your brain, and your brain interprets the signals and from that you are able to "feel" where the sensory input is.

It seems completely redundant and irrelevant to send the signal back to where it came from.
