My dad is very prejudice. He actually almost refused to marry my mom because she has a half black daughter (who was 7 at the time). They are ow divorced, and he's not as prejudice now thanks to my mom, but he still is. I had told him about my boyfriend recently. The first thing he asked was - is he white? I told him that his skin was light, so I guess? He looks white. His response to that was, "As long as he isn't a spic or a nigger that's fine." My boyfriend is Hispanic. I told him that and he told me no daughter of his is going to be a "spic lover".
    I actually started crying. Not because I was sad, but because of how much the ignorance of my dad upset me. First of all he has no room to talk. His wife is Columbian, but he's only with her because of the sex. He treats her like shit and doesn't hesitate to fuck anything with a skirt. Yes, did I mention he's also a whore? A prejudice whore. What the fuck.
   Anyhow, I told him he needs to get something straight. Just because him and his redneck family are still n the 1920s doesn't mean the rest of the world is. My sister is half black, and my boyfriend is Puerto Rican. He needs to get over it. I said many other things, but that was basically the message. I walked out of his house and took a cab home, which cost me a leg and an arm. Since then we haven't talked really. He called and said he wants me to spend more time with him, but I'm scared to death that if I spend to much more time with him I will turn into a prejudice whore like himself. My younger sister, because of his influence, only feels comfortable dating white guys. She doesn't take it as far as my dad where he will only befriend white people, but ho knows, she might. Even if I knew I wouldn't change from being around him, the more he talks shit about half of my family, and my boyfriend, and best friend (who are both Puerto Rican) the more I hate him, and I don't want to hate my dad. We used to have a great relationship.
