do you know certain people that you never have much to talk about with?  like it's just awkward silences and don't really know what to say?  the thing is i'm naturally quiet and shy, unless the person i'm talking to is really talkative and outgoing then im fine.  but if the person is also quiet..then we have nothing to talk about!

I was just thinking about that. I don't really have any 'awkward silences' because the silence between conversation doesn't really bother me. I don't find it awkward or uncomfortable. It's probably awkward for the other person though. You know you really connect with someone if an awkward silence isn't awkward...meaning that you two are comfortably enough with each other to pause between conversation without over thinking it.

ehh, some of my best friends are quiet and shy

but i understand what you're saying
there are just some people that you can't easily talk to

for friends that i know i won't be super close to i've noticed i gravitate towards more talkative outgoing people
they fill in the awkward silences!

i hate it when someone tries to talk to you and tries to find something that'll make you speak more

because it's not that i find the topic boring, its that i really dont want to talk or engage with you

but it's good if they're comfortable with your quietness and can carry a conversation easily, then i talk whenever it comes naturally and dont have to worry about if they're having a hard time

I, personally like outgoing people because I am shy. So when I'm talking to a shy person I hate having to be the one to keep the conversation going because I hate awkwardness too much.
