Because society has determined that lying isn't a "good" quality to have.  That's generally speaking.  Most people who believe in God only want him to have "good" qualities and what they consider a "powerful" person has.

That's my guess anyway.

christens, and other religions are "fairly" wrong..

If God is all powerful, he should be able to create a rock that he cannot move, if he cannot create this, he is not all powerful.

It's a logical contradiction, but because you cannot logically solve the problem of being "all powerful" you should not deem all of Christianity as bullshit - that is a logical fallacy.

We can also claim that "all powerful" means something completely different to God, than it does us humans, but we cannot understand what God means by "all powerful" because we are human.
