Sexuality is just who you're attracted to, period.
I'm beginning to learn that really, it doesn't really matter at all past that.

Male, female, those are rough crude categories that don't always work too well.

There are people that are literally only attracted to one person.

There are people who are attracted to most girls, but only one guy and vice versa.

It's a mess, even my spectrum analogy is getting weaker and weaker as I learn more about it.

Yeah I'll have to agree with you on that. I actually have lived a couple of situations where my friends were "straight" but were attracted to that ONE person of the same sex.

Mancrushes or girlcrushes don't define someone's sexuality.
In my experience, a straight person with a man/girl crush doesn't necessarily want to do anything sexually with that person. :\

The situations I'm talking about are not just crushes, they're full on attraction - and yes, I'm well aware of the difference.

Then they couldn't be classified as straight.

Can't be classified as bisexual or gay either.
Our classifications, even as a spectrum, are crap.

Sure could. It's bisexual.
By definition.
Or pansexual or polysexual if they don't want to be considered as bi.

Bisexual implies "attracted to both men and women". What if they're only attracted to certain people though? As in, even physical attraction is limited to particular people?

At the very least, it is definitely stretching the idea.
And pansexual means attracted to everyone.

If they're only attracted to particular people, then it's pansexuality.
A pansexual doesn't regard gender. And they aren't attracted to everyone.

But if you like men and women, it's bisexual. Simple.

And FTR, I know the attraction to only one person of either gender is highly uncommon.
In most cases it's either all or nothing.

I have been active on LW for over two years and have seen a dramatic shift and loosening of what constitutes sexuality.  I suspect social acceptance to alternate lifestyles has provided the freedom without fear of rejection to reach the point of reducing the gay/bi/straight barriers.  Today it seems that people view others, regardless of their gender, as sexual and find much less of a stigma related to it if they engage in sex with anyone.

There is one trend that I have seen on LW that is disturbing to me and that is the idea that sex with other members of the family is ok.  Underage kids can also be included in this change.  Incest is not ok in my opinion and LW needs to draw the line on this one.  Kids don't pay any attention to what their parents say but they will listen with wide open ears when someone their own age or another teenage telling about what they did with their brother, sister, aunt, uncle or whatever.  In my opinion by LW not drawing the line on this topic it becomes a form of endorsement.
