That dedicated 'stoners' get really protective of marijuana in the fact that they believe it's not a dangerous drug what so ever..
You all go out of your way to correct somebody that says it has harmful long term effects, there's just about as much research in saying it's not bad as their is to say it's dangerous..
I'm an every day all day smoker, so don't get me wrong, but before you go telling me how it's safe, or how it's dangerous, make sure you check your sources..

Yes pot is a drug but being a stoner is a lifestyle.  Also people are so quick to correct because they don't like misinformation being spread.  People who are anti-weed do the same thing just going the other direction ie: saying it is addictive whenever someone says that it isn't.  It's not the fault of stoners, occasional smokers, or people who don't use cannabis that people feel very passionate about their stance on any topic.

People put up fights when people say they're addicted to weed because weed doesn't really cause any withdrawals.  I guess cravings and loss of apatite do sort of count but not everyone who smokes frequently has those when they quit.  Besides caffeine has much worse withdrawal symptoms ranging from head ache to fever to vomiting and, more people become dependent on caffeine than cannabis.  The statistic that most people use to say that cannabis is addictive is just the number of people in rehabilitation programs for it.  The problem with this is that less than 5% of them are there voluntarily and have been ordered there by either a parent or a court.

Now something I do agree with you on is that all drugs have risks to one degree or another and people do need to get over that and realize that pot isn't TOTALLY harmless although it is very safe compared to things like alcohol, tobacco, or Tylenol.

I'm pretty much an all day smoker as well and I'm totally fed up with this argument as I don't really see why it's relevant to a legalization debate.  People should be able to do whatever the hell they want to themselves and the state or whoever shouldn't have a say in adults personal lives.  For gods sake what sort of time do we live in that suicide is illegal?  That doesn't even make sense!
