SLR = greater artistic freedom and more professional looking shots. Point&Shoot = quick and convenient. throw it in your bag or pocket. easy to use.

that really depends on what type of point and shoot you use. I personally love the Holga (it's film, not digital). Like it better than my SLR, though it is much more of a pain in the butt.
