I have noticed that although there is cursing throughout the posts, there are some posters who can not post a simple statement without every other word being a curse.  I find it unnecessary.  Just curious about others thoughts.

when people curse, there are good feeling/calming chemicals released in the brain, because it's human nature to scream when we're in trouble and that releases it the same as saying something we're not supposed to does now.

Ever notice that you ALWAYS curse when you're hurt? Some people subconsciously want to get that feeling from every day talk, and it's a small coping mechanism, though for those who curse a lot it doesn't work as well as it used to because they grow pretty numb to it. Soon they're just words, just as to a chronic smoker a cigarette is just something to puff on rather than a nicotine rush, but the habit remains.

I disagree completely that it's a maturity thing. it's more like 100 years ago it wasn't a part of someone's vocab because it hadn't been said at all if even a word then. And since our generation has put it into our vocabulary and dialect, they see it as something only young people do. What happens when us swearing-young-people grow up and for those that are already mature and still swear?

I know people who are 80 who even swear.
