Has anyone ever had to make a closed ecosystem before? I'm wanting to make a closed, life sustaining aquarium. I know I'll need plants that will produce oxygen, plants the fish will eat and some bottom feeders.. If anyone has ever made a successful one, I'll love some help.

Yep. I just made a closed ecosystem for my AP class. We call ours an Eco-Column. It includes an aquatic, compost, and terrestrial column (in that order). If you have any questions just message me. I still have a ton of bookmarked links also.
