I'm an incoming college freshman who is planning on transferring from my current institution after my first year. However I have a low gpa(2.5) from high school and a low ACT score(19) due to a learning disability in mathematics but other then that my record is pretty good, especially in terms of extracurriculars.

Although in terms of my college record which my major is history and political science, everything has been fairly good. I had a GPA at midterms of (3.4) and along with that fairly good grades in all my classes, I have also been told that I am performing above average compared to many fist-year college students. I have also further expanded my extracurricular record, especially in terms of participation in honor's societies, which were mostly off limits to me in high school due to my GPA. With this I have been fairly active in Phi Alpha Theta(History Honors Society) and Sigma Tau Delta(English Honors Society). I have also contributed to a few political activities and community service activities both over the summer entering college and at college. Also things should be even better for me GPA wise next semester since I won't be in many hard introductory classes. Even though my math course level is below average compared to many college students or what they expect at some of the schools I'm applying to.

So if I keep things up and perhaps bring my GPA up even more. As well as continuing to add to my record.

So overall my record in detail is-

High School Record

GPA-2.5

ACT-19

College Record
GPA-3.4(thus far could be higher the way things are going)

Extracurricular's from 11th grade onward

Cambridge College Programme(Cambridge University United Kingdom)

Internship with one of the 2008 Presidential Campaigns

Homecoming Court 2007

24 hours of separate political volunteer activities

35+ hours of volunteer work with one of my state's Governor's campaign's

24 hours of community service

Alpha Phi Omega(National Co-ed Community Service Society)

Phi Alpha Theta(Historical Honor's Society)

Sigma Tau Delta(English Honor's Society)

Table Francise(French Foreign Language Group)

I also held a job for a year as a bagger at a local grocery chain

So what are my chances at the following schools as college transfer student after 1 year at my current school? I am eager my chances at the following schools.

* Please note that Gettysburg, Allegheny and Wake Forest don't require SAT/ACT scores from transfer students who spent at least one year at another school.

Gettysburg College(Waitlisted in when I applied my senior year of high school)

Allegheny College( Waitlisted in when I applied my senior year of high school)

Dickinson College

Franklin & Marshall College

George Mason University

Mary Washington University

Virgina Military Institute

The Citadel

Wake Forest University

George Washington University

University of Richmond

I think that colleges will definitely note your huge improvement in college and take into consideration your struggles in high school. Your extracurriculars look very impressive as well. I'd say you definitely have a shot at most of those.

The GPA is a deal breaker for most.
Usually the test cores level it out. Retake those tests. Take the SAT's too. You'll always do bettter.

Go two years, then high school and ACT won't matter.
