1) is if that account played a major role in your DoS. The mods will need to decide if that account was what tipped the scales, or if it was just gravy to the incident at hand.
2) is that account you? Who said it was, and why did they think so. is there proof one way or the other.

I would imagine the DoS's stated reason was the major cause of a ban, so it stated that the topic itself wasn't aimed to attack, then the DoS was bogus.
Which, if the other account was not put in the mix, it would have been "not especially cause for concern." If the other account was not you and they cannot really prove internally or externally that it was indeed you, the banning was not called for, like you said.

I am really hoping someone comes up with solid reasoning. It would be really sad if it was just cause of that. I would feel really bad.
