Ok so I've been reading a bunch of Sexual Consent laws, and they all sound insanely complicated. So for the sake of my tired mind, can someone please dumb it down for me and answer this: if the age of consent is 16 but you are a minor until you are 18, then what art the legal repercussions of having a relationship with an older partner while you are 16/17?

If age of consent is 17, then until you're 18 you can only legally date/fuck someone who is 20 years or younger. If it's 16, then likely it's 19 years or younger. Once you're 18 no one gives a fuck who you fuck.

Well age of consent varies by state and country. Most states age of consent is 16. But thanks, that's the answer I needed. But do you know any more about how serious the charges are if they're older than just 2 years?
It's 3 years. Once you're at age of consent, you can't date/fuck anyone three years younger or three years older than yourself. So for 16 it'd be between 13 and 19 years old. If they're over three years, and someone finds out and feels the need to press charges, it is entirely likely the older person will be arrested with either statuatory rape, even with consent, or charged with some form of child endagerment/molestation, etc. Basically become a sex offender. Even if it's not creepy, if it doesnt' follow the rules that person can easily end up as a sex offender, even if you're 17 and they're 21. That's over 3 years difference.

Alright, i read some of what was here but the problem is, you never said what state you need the info for. Every state is different with their laws so even if somebody gives you a general idea, it might be different in your state...
