Wait, so Obama is going against weed now?
Haha you haven't heard? He is working on harsher penalties for people who are smoking without a prescription.
Unless you are thinking of something I am not aware of, you being disingenuous. There's a huge difference between him pushing for laws that make it easier to break up major trafficking organizations, and 'working on harsher penalties for people smoking without a prescription.'
I do not remember where I saw it, I am trying to find it now. But he put a ear Mark in another bill that would call for harsher penalties for people who smoke cannabis and people who sell it also.
As far as I know (and it's likely I would have heard about it here if it were otherwise,) all he's done in terms of harsher penalties for any marijuana related crime is support something that would've allowed for far longer prison terms for people who run organizations that do more than fifty million dollars a year in marijuana trafficking, or something like that. Additionally, your post doesn't make any goddamn sense. "put in ear mark in another bill calling for harsher penalties for people who smoke"? You do realize: a) Obama doesn't put anything in any bills directly - at least not any more, since he's no longer a senator. Or are you talking about something from when he was in the legislature? b) An earmark is a controversial budget allocation, not whatever the hell you are thinking of c) It wouldn't call for higher penalties if it were going to be an antimarijuana bill. It would make higher penalties.

What I read may have been propaganda then. But if I come across it I will post it so that way you can verify for me.
