so, i've been sick since friday with a fever, upset stomach, runny nose, bad cough and whatnot. i still live with my parents so my mom has had me on lockdown, like how moms get when you're sick (no matter how old you get). anyways. i called out of work friday, three hours before my shift (anything under two hours is a write up). i got a call two hours later telling me i needed to "take some medicine and get in there". i refused, as i couldn't even keep my food down. then called that evening to confirm i would not be there the next morning and told them i would let them know if i'd be able to come in sunday or not. when i just called, my manager (whom i tend to butt heads with) gave me attitude and told me i would have to come in and talk to her on monday.
now, i've been working there three years. this new store manager has been working there about a month and a half and in that time i only called out once, with enough time before my shift. i didn't go to a doctor, because i don't know, we're just not the kind of people who go to a doctor when all you need is bed rest and fluids and time to rest. bear in mind i work in food service, nonetheless. when i go in to talk to my manager and she bitches at me, what should i say without getting hostile yet without letting her walk all over me?
