Help ?

I just tried to have a voicechat on steam, but apparently my friend could only hear themselves.

What could be the solution? :o

Go into your sound settings (It should be the little speaker in the task bar, click the (<) button by the clock if you don't see it), look for Mic(If not there, look in the top left corner, and click options, make sure playback is selected, and check 'Microphone', click settings(or options or whatever button in the microphone column), and make sure it's not set on AGC. Make sure it's on 20Db boost ONLY. Not both, or none.

Rough instructions. Will revise if you don't understand.

start/settings/control panel/sounds and audio devices
go to the "audio" tab, make sure your microphone's selected as the default device for "sound recording" and that the "only use default devices" checkbox is ticked.

could be because your mic isnt set on. and its set under stereo input. so they are hearing themselves insed of you. if you played music they might hear that to lol.
