They manage their programs more efficiently so professionals can do more intensive tasks with a lesser computer. I work on a 2.0 GHz iMac w/ 2 gigs of ram, and if I wanted a PC to process the same sizes of raw files that I do, I'd need a lot more processor power and probably about 4 gigs of ram.
Ok, but for half the price of a 1GB Mac, you can buy a 4GB PC and destroy the Mac..
You clearly don't know anything about computers, there hasn't been a 1GB mac since about 1994... If you mean 1 gb of ram, ram is cheap and upgradable in both PCs and Macs. The cost is not much different. I have a 2.0 GHz I mac with 2 GB of ram. It has a built in 22" LCD screen with near perfect calibration naturally. If I wanted the same in a PC, I'd have to get a bigger processor, more memory, we have to throw in 500 GB of hard drive (what my mac has), and THEN I also need to purchase a 22" LCD screen of very high quality, along with a calibration tool (you probably don't know what that is, it's a graphic arts/photography thing, expect it to be around $3-400). Seeming as I payed about $1800 for my mac, costs are getting pretty close...

Macs dont get viruses as easy as a pc does
Yes, they do. The difference is popularity. No one bothers to make up viruses for Macs. There is no "sense of accomplishment".

Get a good antivirus.. I have Avast and it takes care of any virus or spyware in less than 2 seconds.. yah i love porn
But you have to install it, it constantly uses memory and draws processing power, and you have to take the time to scan (or scan at night, and therefore leave you computer on wasting power and wear)

That argument isn't valid anymore, hun. Macs are extremely popular now. The circa-1990's argument of "macs dont have viruses because nobody bothers to make viruses for such a small percentage of computers" is not longer valid whatsoever.

I paid less than $600 for a Toshiba with 4GB of memory and 320GB of RAM, it can even read blue-ray disks.. that's all I had to pay and this computer can do everything insanely fast and everything I want. And scanning for viruses? I don't know what kind of anti-virus you have... viruses or leaving my computer scanning is one thing I don't have to worry about. Thank you Avast!. Gonzalo, you're a moron, stop trying to argue computers. There is no such thing as 320GB of RAM. It's a 320 GB hard drive. 4 GB of memory means 4 GB of ram. Ram = memory. You didn't state your processor speed, the most important part. And your hard drive is 200 GB less than that of my mac. And you didn't factor in my previous points of a extremely high quality 22" LCD monitor and calibration device. And you can't just say it is "insanely fast" and be done with it. You probably just use the internet, maybe some gaming, etc. I depend on my mac to open 50-100 RAW image files of about 13 MB size each all at once into Photoshop Lightroom. That task is about 1000x more intensive that any web browsing you could do.
