hello lw, hope everyone is doing well tonight  
so i'm trying to charge my mom's ipod for her on my computer, i've got it connected to a USB port and I haven't had any trouble with the computer recognizing it, however the battery level doesn't seem to be going up...

anyone have any tips on getting this ipod charged? thanks

Generally, iPod's don't show the battery going up when they're charging... at least, mine doesn't. You have to disconnect it in order to tell.

Sometimes if the Ipod hasn't been charged in a fairly long time it'll take a while. Give it 30 minutes to get it good and charged.  If not then power isn't getting to it and you may want to get it fixed or at least looked at, at an apple store.

I have the iPod touch, and I know it won't charge (as irritating as it is) until you plug it in, but then put it on standby (Press the top button once to dim the screen. Press it again and it shows a battery level and tells you it's charging).

If you have the little "lightning bolt" type of shape in the battery indicator (its REALLY tiny) it is charging.

What model do you have?
