Hull is pretty much the exact same course as what I would have been doing at Glasgow; English and Philosophy. Liverpool is a slightly different course, either Philosophy and Politics or straight Philosophy. However Liverpool is considered the better university.

At Liverpool I would know a lot of people whereas I wouldn't at Hull. I actually think this is a negative for me, I was looking forward to going to Glasgow and knowing very few people and having a big change. I am sociable so it wouldn't be a problem.

You don't really have to know much about the universities and I'm not asking you to make the decision for me but from what I've told you what would you do in my position?

There is no 'best' university- they all have their strengths in different areas, so if one offers the same course you wanted to do, you shouldn't sacrifice that for a so called "better" reputation- thats not what matters

So you would say to choose Hull on that basis?

There's always the option of reapplying to Glasgow whilst at uni. Have you spoken to Glasgow? It might be worth asking them if you'd have a chance reapplying, or if they could offer you another course.
