Don't think I've ever tried brandy.
It's disgusting. I only drink it when I'm desperate.
Still I like trying new drinks. I also haven't tried gin.
Gin is good. Do you know of anywhere where you could pick sloes?
If you pierce holes in a load of sloes and put them in a 2 litre bottle with 1 litre of gin, add sugar and shake it every day for a month or so, you get really nice tasting gin.

Gin tastes like pine needles to me... I'm not a fan.
Vodka on the other hand, is good stuff. I don't get too hungover as long as I take the right precautions, so it's all good.
